Haylie Duff spent last Christmas in Miami, but found it “so much work” that she’ll be home in L.A. with her mom Susan and sister Hilary, 20, this year.

“We haven’t done that in a really long time, so we’re staying home and having a normal Christmas night,” Duff, 22, tells PEOPLE. The star-filled home won’t be slaving over the stove though.

“We do the tamales tradition and go out and get them from a little guy who lives out in Pasadena. We buy them from him, like, every year,” she explains. “We don’t really do big cooking on Christmas. We do all that during Thanksgiving and then we’re dieting after that.”

It will be festive too, she vows. “My friend Nicki and I have been decorating the house for the past three days, so there’s been Christmas craziness in our house.”

After Christmas, travel plans take over. “We’re going to go to Mexico for New Year’s,” Duff says.

Susan Duff asked the court that her husband pay her living expenses while the divorce is pending. Susan Duff has not worked since 1988 and has been supported for many years by Hilary and Haylie.

The judge ordered Bob Duff to pay $100,000 in temporary support over five months, beginning in January, in addition to a previously ordered $100,000 for expenses and legal fees (as yet unpaid). A hearing is set for January to examine the prenuptial contract between Bob and Susan Duff.

Stansbury, a retired family court judge from Fort Bend County appointed to hear the case, also ordered Bob Duff to pay $150,000 of his wife’s legal fees by Feb. 1, although he later suspended the order until a hearing set for next month to examine a prenuptial contract between Bob and Susan Duff.

An accountant said that the legal fees for this divorce, which was filed in the summer of 2006, are near $1 million.

Bob Duff, a godson of the late Houston philanthropist Audrey Jones Beck who owns a chain of convenience stores, among other business ventures, wasn’t in court Thursday. After a hearing earlier this month, he acknowledged that the divorce has driven a wedge between him and his daughters.

“When this is over, I’m going to try to tell them my side of it,” he said.

Hilary and Haylie are involved as ‘intervenors’ in the case regarding a trust of family land set up for them as children. The sisters are seeking information about a $720,000 loan their father made against this trust. Court documents on the case have been sealed.

Hilary Duff’s new fragrance called ‘Wrapped With Love’ will be coming to retailers near you in January 2008.

The fragrance, as seen above, is made in partnership with Elizabeth Arden. The perfume is a more summer fragrance than ‘With Love’ and has hints of iced honeydew, violet, vanilla bean and chocolate mousse.

A generous Canadian restaurant manager has paid Hilary Duff’s bar bill after the pop star left without settling up.

Rather than turn the incident into a big fuss, Glowbal Grill� & Satay Bar boss Jeffery Penna covered the $400 bill Duff and her sister Haylie forgot to pay.

Penna insists the bill was worth it for a night with the Duff sisters: “They were delightful to be with.”

The 20-year-old is getting serious with her sportsman lover, who she’s been dating since the summer (07).

Now here’s something to brighten everyone’s day. Forbes has put out a 20 Richest Stars Under 25 list, just to remind the rest of us how little we’ve achieved. Mind you, if you’re under 25 there may still be hope. For those of us that have passed that milestone – hey, there’s more to life than money, right? Right?

Hilary Duff’s hockey-star boyfriend, Mike Comrie, has passed the all-important sister test.

“I think he’s great and so special,” big sis Haylie said at the Guess/Conde Nast Movies Rock party in LA on Nov. 29. “I love him. He’s a really great guy.”

Hilary and Comrie – a 27-year-old player for the New York Islanders – have been dating for less than a year. But Comrie is already known for his over-the-top displays of devotion. In September, he “surprised” Hilary with a $100,000 Mercedes for her 20th birthday.

“He’s good to her,” added Haylie. “That’s all I care about.”

For Hilary Duff, body image issues are so yesterday. “There definitely was a time, about a year and a half ago, when I was pretty obsessed with my body and my weight,” dishes the 20-year-old mogul in the January issue of Cosmopolitan on newsstands Tuesday. “But I’m better not stressing about my body all the time. It’s not attractive when girls get superskinny. Guys don’t like it. Girls don’t like you as much. You lose some happiness when that’s all you think about,” Hilary Duff says.

The teen superstar who’s done it all [Television, Films, Music, Fashion & Fragrances] also adds that she has no marriage plans anytime soon. “I think a reason that people in this business get married young is that they feel like everything comes to them sooner in life. It’s normal to be like, ‘Okay, what’s next?’ ” Having famously dated Good Charlotte musician Madden for 18 months – before they broke up in November 2006 – Duff is currently dating NHL player Mike Comrie.

On the heels of this week’s Jennifer Love Hewitt controversy about body image, Duff said that, as a scrutinized starlet, she has fretted about her weight. “You lose some happiness when that’s all you think about,” Duff says. “There definitely was a time, about a year and a half ago, when I was pretty obsessed with my body and my weight, but I’m better not stressing about my body all the time.”

She adds, “It’s not attractive when girls get super-skinny. Guys don’t like it. Girls don’t like you as much.” Next year, Duff will be tackling her first serious movie role, in War, Inc., costarring John Cusack. This year she spent promoting her latest CD, Dignity, which hit stores in April.

Hilary Duff may have sexed up her image, but she’s definitely no Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton.The popular singer/actor doesn’t understand the troubles of many of her contemporaries.

Hilton and Lohan recently spent time in jail for driving under the influence, while Spears has battled her own drug woes and undergone rehabilitation treatment. Spears also faces jail time for a hit-and-run incident earlier this year.

“I don’t know why they are running into those kinds of problems, like getting DUI (driving under the influence) and that,'’ Duff told Insider.

“If someone is 20 or 21 and they want to go out to a club and dance and drink or do whatever, that is normal. “They are just acting their age, but (if) everyone is paying attention to you because you are who you are … like, it just seems like it is so easy to avoid. “Getting a DUI or even getting in a car after you’ve been drinking … like, hire a driver.'’

Duff, 20, went from girl next door to all grown up for the release of her latest album, Dignity. Known the world over as the blonde cutie film and television character Lizzie McGuire, Duff dyed her hair dark and unashamedly sexed up her image. Like many Hollywood actors and pop starlets, there is a lot of attention on her private life.

She is photographed by paparazzi wherever she goes, although she tries to stay away from the regular celebrity hangouts.

Duff is filming her latest movie, Greta, in New Jersey with Evan Ross, the youngest son of soul diva Diana Ross. Attention from paparazzi photographers keen to catch a shot of her on set has been hard to handle.

“It has been crazy. I expect to be followed around in LA or New York, but in Jersey I had no idea that it was going to be like that,'’ she said.

Asked how she has maintained normalcy in her life, Duff, who has sold 13 million albums, is quick to answer.

“You have to have rules and boundaries,'’ she said. “A lot of people love that (media) attention and that is where they lose their minds, getting eaten up with constantly being the centre of attention or wanting to be seen wherever they go.'’

Despite having dated singer Aaron Carter and Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden, who is now with Nicole Richie, Duff said she tried to hang around normal people. “I have a lot of semi-acquaintances in the business, but they are not my everyday friends I call when I want to have a chat.

“I have a really great support system in my sister and my mum and don’t think they would ever let me lose track of reality like that. And I am glad for it.'’
