Hilary blames media for having skinny stars

Hilary Duff has hit out at the media’s obsession with stars’ weight, confessing she slimmed down after she was dubbed “fat” by a tabloid.

The 19-year-old provoked alarm when her weight dramatically dropped–and she blames pressure from the press.

Duff says, “I did get skinny. When I read ‘Duff Puff–she’s gained 15 pounds’, how would any normal person react?”

Hilary Duff has admitted “it wasn’t fun” seeing ex-boyfriend Joel Madden dating skinny socialite Nicole Richie.

The Lizzie McGuire star, who split from long-term partner last year, has penned tracks about the love triangle on her latest album Dignity.

Duff says, “Last year was really difficult. It’s not fun seeing your ex with someone else.”

Duff says she titled the album Dignity because she felt dignity is something “you have to work on having… The album is so personal and talks about so many experiences I’ve had, good ones and bad ones, and dignity is something I always hope to have and strive to have.”
